My origin story and a little about me!
You may have wondered why the heck I named my clinic “Fine Fettle Collaborative”. What does Fine Fettle mean anyways?! My origin story starts in 2013 when I was 1 year into clinical practice. I was running a community cleanse event and provided participants with bags of loose leaf tea to support their 14 day cleanse. . The cleanse was a hit and many participants continued to purchase the tea which I called “Doctor’s Detox”. During my first maternity leave, I found myself daydreaming about starting a line of wellness teas. I brainstormed ideas and came across the saying “In fine fettle” which is old English for “in very good health or condition”. Fine Fettle Tea was born! During COVID, I decided to start my own virtual clinic. One of my core values has always been to facilitate or coach my clients to take control and accountability for their health. I’ve always envisioned myself as a collaborator when engaging with clients. It is important that my recommendations are individualized and adaptable to one’s lifestyle. I want my clients to be successful and therefore, we “collaborate” together. Fine Fettle Collaborative was the appropriate choice! Almost 4 years later, here we are. I now offer virtual and in-person consultations which has allowed the introduction of B12 injections, physical exams and acupuncture. Fine Fettle Tea has expanded into a line of 11 wellness teas which are sold on my website and at Gifted Waterloo. I am on-boarding 8-10 new clients a month and continue to work with those I have known for over a decade. Occasionally I have the opportunity to treat an entire family unit, which is always a pleasure and an honour. Through experience and my own health challenges, I have developed special interests in mental health, burnout support, women’s hormones and gut health. When I’m not working, I am raising 2 busy boys with my husband, enjoying Pilates and Peloton workouts, digging in my garden, trying new recipes, and spending time in our backyard along the Grand River. Thank you for being here and for your support, now and over the years. If you are new here, welcome! I hope that we have the opportunity to connect in the future.
